National Pension System (NPS)
The economic turbulence that the millennials witnessed in their personal and professional lives influenced their approach towards retirement planning. The advent of private insurance companies provided them with a plethora of pension products. However, most were overwhelmed with the wide array of pension products available in the market and taking a well-informed decision posed a significant challenge. NPS is a social security initiative by the Government of India which is governed by the autonomous body Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA). Contributions made to NPS can be invested in three classes of funds; Equity, Fixed Return and Government Bonds.
