The healthcare industry is rapidly shifting toward patient centricity and facing challenges due to the constantly changing regulatory environment. Despite reimbursement cuts/regulations to drive down costs, the total healthcare spending is as high as $3.4 trillion, which equates to approximately 20% of the US GDP in 2017. Healthcare spending is expected to grow at 5.6% annually without any sign of shrinking. There is adequate evidence to believe that all components in the industry, including lab services, will face a cut in reimbursement/spending.
